About us.
We are The Open Office (TOO), a design practice founded in 2019 by Satyanand M and Nikita Baliga in Bangalore.
Our journey started in 2019, before which we spent our time designing and planning at multiple scales. We founded TOO with the attempt to create a working environment where problems are solved through design and without limitations of scale. Hence, the many identities we take on as TOO gives us the freedom to do interesting work.
We consider versatility to be our strength, but the belief that we haven't stretched ourselves enough, keeps us “open”.
Our philosophy.
For us, identity is paramount in creating unique experiences. We believe that the identity of an experience, irrespective of scale, is deeply embedded in the purpose of its existence, the needs of its users, context of its being and the resources available to create it.
Our ongoing pursuit is to infuse everything we design with a distinct identity of its own. We hold that good design always leaves the user with a distinct memory of the experience, be it an object or a space.
Guided by these principles, we are committed to improving urban life through thoughtful design.
