Lake House
Farmhouses or weekend homes at the very core, are meant to embrace the landscape around. When a natural feature like a lake is adjacent to the site, it becomes the guiding force for design.

We designed a house by the lake for a family to stay and host. The vision was to be able to appreciate the lake and the landscape beyond from every space in the house. The views of the hills beyond, the stillness of the vast lake and the native birds that visited the lake wetlands defined the frames that then governed the geometry, placement and spaces of the house. The lake house was constructed with the mud from around the lake, which provided a neutral frame to the green and blue from within but was also meant to blend in the landscape. We are open to lakes TOO.
